The Two State Solution Is Dead - It already exists in Jordan on Jewish land

The Two State Solution Is Dead

Two mortars were fired into southern Israel by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza at 2 am this morning.
You will recall a previous israelstreet blog this month about the outpouring of support for Israel in Stockholm, Sweden. This morning a bomb rocked a Jewish congregation building in Malmo.
Your humble servant has little to add about PM Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations last night. It was a straightforward presentation of the facts that left no doubt, literally, about where Israel’s red line is–though there has been serious misreportage about where Netanyahu said that red line is. Here are his words:
“By next spring, at most by next summer at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and moved on to the final stage. . . The red line should be drawn right here [Netanyahu draws the line with a red marker] before Iran completes the second stage of nuclear enrichment necessary to make a bomb.”
Note that Netanyahu said that action must be taken “before” Iran completes the second stage–“before” the Spring or summer of next year.

TODAY’S BLOG:
A map used by the PLO/PA in Palestinian schools. Is anything missing?
The two state solution as conceived by the “peacemakers” in the West is dead.
The truthas noted in yesterday’s blogis that it was never aliveFrom the moment that the Palestinian Arab community rejected the Peel Commission report in 1937 which sought to create an “Arab Palestine” and a “Jewish Palestine” until Mahmoud Abbas’ speech last night at the United Nations, the Palestinians have rejected every attempt to create a Palestinian state and every offer of peace ever made by Israel.
The Palestinians rejected a Palestinian state in 1947 when one was handed to them by the United Nations. The Palestinians rejected a Palestinian state from 1948-1967 when Arabs controlled the “West Bank” area the Palestinians claim to want now. The Palestinians rejected a Palestinian state offered by Israeli PM Yitzhak Rabin in the 1993 Oslo Accords. The Palestinians rejected a Palestinian state in a peace deal offered by Israeli PM Ehud Barak in 2000. The Palestinians rejected a Palestinian state offered by Israeli PM Ehud Olmert in 2007.
Why have the Palestinians rejected every offer of peace and every effort to create a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River?  Simply because the Palestinians want all of the land west of the Jordan River–every inch of it.
Last night, Mahmoud Abbas was introduced to the United Nations as the“Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization”. Lest we forget, the Palestinian Liberation Organization was founded in 1964–at a time when no one but Palestinians were living in the “West Bank”. What exactly was the PLO trying to liberate in 1964? There were none of  Mahmoud Abbas’ hated “settlers”, no “occupying Zionist forces”, no “Zionist communities.”  The PLO’s goal was, and always has been, the elimination of Israel–not the creation of a state of Palestine.
Abbas, the same man who has said that a future Palestine would not have a single Jew in it, began his speech in Orwellian fashion last night accusing Israel of ethnic cleansing, even though Israel has not deported even 1 Palestinian from Jerusalem, Judea, or Samaria–and the Palestinian population has steadily increased.  He continued by grotesquely asserting that the Palestinian terrorists in Israeli prisons are in reality “soldiers in their people’s struggle for freedom, independence, and peace.”
Abbas proceeded quickly to reject the absurd Western idea that the Palestinians would agree to any future peace plan that would divide Judea and Samaria such as plan dredged up again by Ehud Barak this week:
“My people will continue their epic steadfastness and eternal survival in their beloved land, every inch of which carries the evidence and landmarks affirming their roots and unique connection throughout ancient history.”
Epic steadfastness? Eternal survival? Ancient history? The only epic, eternal, and ancient history that the Palestinians have is what they have attempted to steal from the Jews.
Abbas then proceeded to reject any peace plan that does not involve returning all of the so-called “Palestinian refugees” to Israel–a return that would destroy the country of Israel:
“The core components of a just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict do not require effort to discover, but rather what is needed is the will to implement them . . . This includes the realization of the independence of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, over the entire territory occupied by Israel since 1967, and the realization of a just, agreed solution to the Palestine refugee issue in accordance with resolution 194, as prescribed in the Arab Peace Initiative.
What Abbas and the PLO want is what they have always wanted–to set up a temporary Palestinian state in the territory captured by Israel in 1967 and then flood Israel with some 5,000,000 Palestinian refugees (Resolution 194 as understood by the Arab world) thereby eliminating Israel as a Jewish state and transforming it into an Arab Palestine.
Speaking of a Jewish state, you will remember the Dershowitz formula from yesterday. Abbas had supposedly agreed to begin negotiations with Israel based on a “conditional freeze” of Israeli construction of homes, schools, and hospitals in Judea and Samaria. Part of this signage was to have been a direct statement in Abbas’ speech last night “linking” “Judaism” with Israel.
Abbas did not utter the words “Jew”, “Jewish”, or “Judaism.”
But he did mention “Israel” or “Israeli” –33 times. You can get a flavor how they were used by the first few references: “racist Israeli settlement of our country Palestine”, “terrorist militias of Israeli settlers”, “killing and abuse with complete collusion ofoccupying forces and the Israeli government”, “a culture of incitement in the Israeli curriculum and extremist declarations”, “Israel the occupying Power”, “prisoners and detainees in Israel’s jails”, “Israeli occupying forces demolished” . . .
In the end, Abbas brazenly accused Israel of being on the verge of instigating a “second Nakba” (despite the myriad of concessions that Israel has made in recent months to keep the PLO/PA afloat)–and called on the United Nations to not allow it. As Israeli FM Lieberman said this morning, it was a speech filled with nothing except incitement against Israel–the same incitement we Israelis have heard for the last 64 years.
The two state solution of an Israeli state and a Palestinian state wholly west of the Jordan River was such a lovely idea. Two peoples living together on the same land and sharing the same aspiration for peace. Two peoples bound together by religion, history and place learning to respect each other and embrace each other’s differences. Two peoples pooling their resources and talents to create an oasis of coexistence in the Middle East.
It is a Western idea rooted in the absurd notion that, at heart, everyone is the same–everyone wants what everyone else wants, and if we just talk long enough about the problem it will eventually go away and be solvedIt is a total delusion.
As noted Israeli historian Benny Morris observed in the interview I quoted yesterday: “[The] goals of the Palestinian national movement [are] to extinguish the Jewish national project and to inherit all of Palestine for the Arabs and Islam.”
Tomorrow, unless events intervene, your humble servant will discuss where we go from here.

  1. I think the Arab-Palestinians need to face reality and stop deluding themselves. No distortion of history or pressure by the Arab-Palestinians will change that. No UNESCO – U.N. declaration-resolution that are non-binding and have no legal standing or anyone else. There is not going to be another Arab-Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. The Arabs have already an Arab Palestinian state which is on Jewish land over three times the size of Israel, east of the Jordan River; it is called Jordan, where 80% of the population are Arab Palestinians and the Arabs in Judea and Samaria aka the West Bank have a Jordanian passport. They were all Jordanian citizens when Jordan Annexed the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Arabs received over 13 million sq. km. with a wealth of oil reserves, after WWI and the Jewish people were given back their historical land in all of Palestine aka The Land of Israel. The Arab countries also terrorized and expelled over a million Jewish families and confiscated all their assets, including businesses, homes and over 120,000 sq. km. of Real Estate and land owned by the Jewish people for over 2,600 years; these assets are valued in the trillions of dollars. Most of the million expelled Jewish families from Arab countries now reside in Israel.
